XP-Roc Girls come in!

I know it's early but I'm starting to think of DD's first bday in June. We're thinking of having it out somewhere-a park shelter or something. Does anyone have any good ideas? I looked at some Brighton parks, but if you're not a resident you can't book anything until 3mos ahead-and for summertime I have a feeling that'll be hard. We live very close to Brighton but in the city and don't want to go too far from home-we'd prefer a park or something relatively close. Of course any other locations besides parks would be great if you have any! Thanks!

Re: XP-Roc Girls come in!

  •  your best three options would be- cobbs hill park, highland park, or powder mills park in pittsford.  you have to book pavilions though if you want them.  same deal as the other things.

i would not recommend mendon ponds park (too far out), or king's bend park (the grass area there is cemented rock hard with goose poop)

  • I think you can also rent a shelter at Springdale Farm in Ogden, but that might be too far out for you.

  • Ellison Park has a lodge, as well as some pavilions. As pp mentioned, there's a lodge near Cobbs Hill- I think it's a City of Rochester Park(?)- I walk the dog back behind School # 1 to go up through that Washington Grove area and I see parties at the lodge quite often. That location would be really convenient.
