Am I the only person getting these calls?
Someone from Vista Services has called me twice now confirming the last four digits of my CC# (scary) and telling me that they want to send me gas vouchers in the mail worth $120. All FREE (right). So further in, you end up having to pay to ship the "free" vouchers and you sign up for some service, which you can cancel after 30 days, blah, blah....the first time I was laughing at the person telling them, this isn't "Free". And said "no way" and the guy wouldn't stop. Very, very pushy. Today when they called, I said I wasn't interested right away and hung up. I forgot to say to take me off the calling list. Next time I'll do that, b/c I'm sure they'll be calling back.
Anyway, has anyone else gotten these calls? I couldn't find anything on snopes.com about it, but a quick google search led me to threads of pages with a lot of people complaining about this scam. Heads up, peeps.
Re: Vista Services Scam
Do you think they got your info from Vista Print?
I just got this call, too! Again, very pushy sales guy and I kept saying the same thing - I don't want this, please don't send anything to me. I, too, forgot to say "take me off your calling list"! Dang it!!
The gimmick is that they get you to agree to everything up front w/o telling you the name of the company or how they got your information - when I asked, "How did you get my information" - he quickly jumped into "Can I confirm your address and last four digits of my Mastercard.
I called the number back that they called me from and it's a "order confirmation line" - but you can dial "0" to get to an option to enter your phone number to remove yourself off the list. I didn't enter mine for fear that I was confirming my own phone number.
BE CAREFUL!!!
