Re: so what's going on everyone?

  • Not much is going on for me. Just trying to figure out why i've been getting regular afternoon headaches for the past week...and why i'm not sleeping very well. Stress about being unemployed? Sinus pressure? Allergies? DH and i need a new mattress?! Tongue Tied

I'm going home to NM this Saturday-Wednesday to visit my bf and her brand new baby!! (her 3rd baby boy, to be exact) My sister and niece are coming in for the weekend too and they're picking me up at the airport and then we're going to lunch. It'll be nice to get away for a few days and snuggle on some babies. Big Smile

Then it'll be back to the grind of trying to figure out what to do with my unemployed days and rehearsal at night!!

  • I had my baby shower this past Sunday. It was really great and I got lots of good baby gear and cute clothes. Surprisingly, I'm really lacking on the burpies, so I'm going to re-use some prefold diapers and sew them to make into cute burpies.

Then on Monday, my boss told me that since things were really really slow at work (I work full time freelance at a photo studio), they weren't going to need me until end of February! Indifferent My hours recently have been cut back to about 3 days a week, but this just really sucks. I was kind of planning on that income and its not like I can find much else between now and when the baby arrives. So I've been really bummed and moping the past couple days. We'll be ok financially, but it just upsets me. It's making me re-evaluate how secure this job really is and what I would do if I didn't have it at all.

Other than that - we've been busy with prepping for the baby. Taking childbirth classes and I'm starting to gather stuff together for our upcoming home birth. I'm also really thinking about taking an infant/child CPR class. so just really baby-focused at this point!!

  • Meg: Have a wonderful trip to NM! =)

Liza: I'm sorry to hear that work is slow for you. =(

Nothing new and exciting happening over here. I'm leaving for FL on Sat. with my hubby and IL's. Other than that, my life is boring. lol

How's everything with you Helene? How's the house coming along?

trying to not to strangle current co-workers, especially my boss and meow mix (so named because she meows to her boyfriend over the phone)

purging/organizing our current apartment (i even started packing over the weekend!)

and trying to figure out some great plans for DH's b-day on 2/15

  • Looks like we all have a lot going on, huh?

Meg: I've been having annoying headaches in the afternoon for the past couple of weeks too and it's frustrating. I find that it helps if I get outside for even half an hour to just get fresh air. Hope you're feeling better soon. And enjoy the babies!

Liza: sorry about your work situation! Are you planning on staying home with your LO then until you can find something else?

Cheeky: your coworker literally meows at her bf over the phone?? That is so strange!!

Nothing much going on here. But I barely have time to get on here most days: the kiddo gets mad when I go near my computer, lol. She absolutely has to have me sitting near her, even if she's perfectly content playing on her own!

  • Hey ladies:

Meg & Bonnie enjoy your trips! I seriously need a vacation. DH might be taking another one without me. Crying

Liza: I don't curse a lot but WTF?!? Can they just let you go like that? Jeez! I hope you will be ok. I am glad that you got a lot of stuff for your shower.

Cheeky & Tova: Good luck on the apartment hunting.

So yeah, DH will (might be- no ticket yet) be heading to the sunny Caribbean next week and leaving me by my lonesome! I am a bit scared not because of anything really - but the boiler man! What if it pops or something? Or what if the smoke alarms do not want to stop shrieking!! LOL He needs the vacation even though we are broke. If he doesn't take it, he loses his vacay days plus it's home, its not like he will have to stay at a hotel or anything...but still. I am going to try to go spend a few nights in Jersey and hang out at my friend's house and go out a bit. Besides that, I am ok!

  • Thanks ladies.

lawby: its not that I've necessarily been 'let go'. I work freelance and I will still be working for them in about a month for a few days/week. I get paid a day rate, so yea, I can be told either "oh, youre working today" or "we don't need you today/this week." I'm not a salaried employee nor  do I have any benefits, I'm more like self-employed and for the past 3 years have worked pretty much solely for the studio.

anyways: I was/am planning on taking a regular maternity leave (but again, it would be non-paid which is why we saved up some $ just in case) and then after the maternity leave I am planning to return to work on a part-time basis. I'd rather be able to stay home with our baby as much as I can, but I do still want to work. I'm sure it will all work out in the end, just wish I was still working more right now before the baby comes!

  • Hi ladies.

Yuliya, you need a laptop so you can sit next to Sasha AND nest :-)

Nothing too exciting going on here.  I have been just trying to get through each day without throwing up too much.  :-(  I threw up three times this morning before I left for work!  So, I spend much of the time when I am in my office taking deep breaths and closing my eyes, which leaves little time for nesting when you factor in that I need to get work done too.

Danielle, I'm sorry you're feeling so bad, hopefully it'll pass soon! And I do have a laptop, the little stinker comes over and wants to play with it!
