So you all know how I've been stressed and fairly unhappy in my job. Well, a few months ago I was at an adoption agency doing a visit with one of the kids on my caseload and her family (I worked for them right out of grad school then left to go to my current job). The old director of the agency came out to say hi to me and asked me when I'm coming back, like she always has for the past four years. I jokingly said "when I get laid off in a few months." Well, she sent me an email the next day following up and said she is serious about her offer. I thanked her and referred my friend to her, who was recently laid off. She ended up hiring him and emailed me another two times to see if I would still like to work there. Well, I responded back about two weeks ago that I would consider it on a few conditions. I didn't know if she would actually meet my conditions, and well, she did! I didn't think DH would get on board with it because it is a pay cut, but I would be so much less stressed and doing a job I aboslutely love (writing homestudies for people who want to adopt and matching them with kids). I told the director I would think about it and we could talk more in the Spring. Well, I thought and thought about it and talked to DH and he said I should go for it. So I emailed her over the weekend and said I would like to take the job and not wait to see if I am laid off. She gladly accepted!! I'm going to meet with her on Tuesday to iron out the details, but the job is mine!
I am so excited! I have been so stressed at work and my friend's death has still weighed on me and I finally decided life is too short to not be happy. I don't know what I'm going to do without my long time friend stress in my life, but I guess I'll manage without her somehow!! lol!!!

That's wonderful news to share, and we'll be celebrating with drinks in 2 weeks! Work doesn't need to be stressful, it needs to be a place where you enjoy being there and enjoy what you do. Congrats girlie!!!!
