I only say no apertivos because they are booked solid tonight and no Cornells b/c I was just there a couple of weeks ago...

Anyone eaten at the Van Dyck? I've only been there for drinks...

I went with co-workers and we shared a few of the pizzas. They were quite good. I don't know about the rest of the menu, but it looked good o me!

The Lighthouse is pretty good, as is The Stockade Inn.

You looking for a more "nicer" sit-down? Or will pub style or any other kind work?

I ask b/c I like Fireside (across from Price Chopper).

Lighthouse is nice - just make sure you have enough time - on the slower side.

I second the Lighthouse....the food is good and so is the atmosphere. I usually go there in the summer to sit outside....

Did the Wine Down lounge on Union make it, or have they closed? I always meant to try there; it opened just before we moved out of the Stockade. Never made it, though, and now Albany is much more convenient.

Sadly no the Winedown didn't make it. Both DH and I realy liked it and were sorry to see it go. I hope something good goes in there soon.

That's too bad, although I'm not terribly surprised. That's a tough area for restaurants to thrive in. How many times has the Van Dyck changed ownership...? A wine bar and restaurant would've done so much better in easy walking distance to Proctor's.

There's also Ferrari's. Can't remember how to get there (or if that's the exact spelling), but their food is delish!
