ugh, my day is about to be ruined

The propane truck is in my driveway.  This is not cool batman.  Not at all cool.  I want to move.  I don't want propane to come to my house anymore.  I want something like electric heat or geo thermal heating.   I want something cheaper than what we are currently paying for. ugh...

Re: ugh, my day is about to be ruined

  • What's the propane for? Heat? We don't use that here, it's all natural gas. It costs us about $100/month to heat the house. Is that about what propane costs? I'm so clueless. In our next home, Dallas would LOVE to install a geo thermal system. This time it wasn't in the budget as it would have added about $40k to the price Tongue Tied
  • I WISH it cost $100.  It costs more like $350 a month in the winter during a really cold month it has cost almost $750.  I hate it.  I want to switch to electric.  I just don't have the money just yet to do that.  At least with electric it would be more easily controlled and I wouldn't be paying to heat the rooms we don't use.  I hate propane day...

  • Holy macaroni...$350?! Insanity! So, electric means, what, baseboard-type heaters? lol, I am from the prairies, -50 *requires* gas heat! lol

My parents did geothermal, I think it was 16K? ?And there were all kinds of federal rebates, so they got a lot of that back.?

Ooooh, I hadn't thought of Federal rebates, etc. I will def look into that.

  • Our next house will have geothermal and be totally off the grid.
