Pakistan hotel bombing

The Marriott in Islamabad (where most Americans and westerners stay when in the country on business) was bombed a few hours ago. At least 40 people were killed.

I know a few people who are there currently on business, please keep your fingers crossed that they were out to dinner when the bombing happened. I can't get through to their mobiles, but that's to be expected under these circumstances...

  • I just heard from a coworker that all three are accounted for, they were in the hotel, but ok. Phew!

    It sounds like most of the casualties, as is usually the case in these situations, were not the target westerners, but the poor Pakistani men who serve as their drivers and security guards and were waiting outside the hotel...
