Poor Taste?
I go to bible study with a woman who is a consultant for a Candle Company (..the kind that has "candle parties," and stuff). I have been invited to several of her parties, but haven't gone, basically because I didn't want to spend the money.
A good friend of my husband and me (-she was in our wedding-) is also a consultant for a different Candle Company. I have gone to two or three of her parties because I feel the need to actively support her in her career.
The difference between these two women is that the woman I go to Bible study with is more of an acquaintance, and the other is a good friend.
If I wanted to host a Candle Party for my good friend, would it be in poor taste to invite the first woman, accounting for the fact that she works for a competitive company and I haven't actually been to one of her parties? If I don't invite her, should I not invite anyone else from my bible study (so she doesn't hear about it)?
