J Crew Factory Outlet store in San Marcos

I am mostly likely WAY behind knowing that this the Prime Outlet mall in SM has a J Crew......Loser! :)

For those who have been there, is it worth a poop?

THANKS!

Re: J Crew Factory Outlet store in San Marcos

  • The last time I went clothes shopping in SM, almost no place had really good "'outlet" deals like they used to back in the day. It was just like giant mall with maybe more sale racks.

    I want CLEARANCE!!!

  • I haven't been since the summer.  I've been probably about 5 times and 2 of those times had a lot of luck.

I bought capri pants for $20, a ton of tanks (in all different colors) for anywhere from $2-4 each.  I've gotten dresses there for $15-$20.  They have accessories... shoes.... Oh, I got some nice shorts for about $15.

So, yes, I think its worth it.  Its a ton cheaper than real JCrew and you can sometimes find really cheap items.  Its a pretty big store, too.

  • I think it's worth it. I like it better than the one in RR but the RR one is good for a quick trip. The SM one always seem to have more stuff.

I love their long sleeve button up shirts. They hold up very well.

  • Not sure about the SM outlet, but the one in RR was nearly empty when I was there about ten days ago. They barely had any clothes on the racks and many were just empty. They said it was because they were doing their long winter inventory before getting new spring stuff (like bathing suits - now?) and to check back "in a couple of weeks."

This has always been my experience at the RR JCrew outlet--I don't think they're very good about staying stocked up.

  • I live in New Braunfels & in general my impression of the outlets are that most of the stores are hit or miss.  Sometimes you can find stuff, others not so much.  But I do agree with the above poster that the "deals" aren't really all that much better than a regular good old sale at a store!  Well, except for Coach!  Smile
