Hampton Roads is possibly getting 14 inches of snow by Saturday night. It hasn't snowed this much since 1989 and people are FREAKING out. I went to Trader Joe's to pick up stuff for the weekend (not specifically because it's going to snow) and the bread shelves were wiped clean! I can only imagine what it will be like in the grocery stores tonight.
DH has to work tomorrow and is considered essential personnel so even if the base is closed he'll have to go in. I'm not quite sure how his Nissan Versa is going to make it down our very steep driveway in the snow. We don't have a shovel either. I'm not sure how many plows our county has, but I highly doubt our neighborhood will be plowed. LOL, I told him he's going to have to call one of his guys to come get him in a Humvee. I'll take pictures if that happens.
I feel like making a sign that says "The End is Near" and walking around the grocery store with it.
Re: Batten down the hatches!
HENCE..... Why DH is coming home tonight.
Please be safe... they are expecting a bad storm.
Im hoping your phone has internet..... I will be worried if the power goes out
Yikes! Stay safe!
Thats how people act out here every.single.time.it.RAINS!
I've already told DH how to drive in the snow. I had to be taught when I lived in RI for grad school. If it's really bad tomorrow morning he's going to call his boss and tell him he's not coming in unless someone comes to get him. The interstates won't be plowed, but supposedly they are being pre-treated tonight.
You've just reminded me to make sure I charge my BlackBerry tonight!
LOL! I talked to my bf last night who lives in TN and she was cracking me up over how everybody is buying bread and milk. Her quote was something along the lines of "they're not even buying lunch meat, just bread and milk. What the hell are they going to do have milk sandwiches?"
I love this. I always think the same thing. The "staples" are always gone. WTF people. If I am going to be snowed in for a week, I'm going to buy some fvcking brownies, pizzas, and hot pockets. And beer. One year when I was in college my roommate and I went to get DQ Blizzards in bulk (we had them make 3 each) so that we could have Blizzards and Beer Nights.
I am amazed at the items people think of when they're getting a storm! I'd go for the ice cream and snack food isles, myself (if I weren't doing this crazy workout thingy and WW, of course)...
I'd be baking with you, Rachel!
Stay safe, FLip Flops!!! And charge that Blackberry!!!
Hahaha! This drives me crazy--I really don't understand why people go insane and clean out the grocery store. We're only supposed to get about 3 inches (maybe), but they had people on the news last night freaking out and buying tons of milk, bread, and toilet paper. Seriously? So, you're telling me that even if it wasn't going to snow tomorrow you'd still need to run frantically to the store for toilet paper??? And, you think with 3 inches you're not going to still be able to make it out tomorrow or the day after? Does snow automatically make people in your house go to the bathroom every 5 minutes? Craziness!!!
Enjoy the snow
I saw your FB status about Miller prancing around in it!
