As I've posted before, we're desperate to get out of our house and get into something in a nice neighborhood.
In the paper there was an ad for a "We BUY HOUSES!" guy. I assume that he will buy houses for less than they are worth, then sell them for more than they are worth. So we'd probably lose $5,000 or more in order to sell our house.
But I hate living in the border of the ghetto.
So what do you think, worth it or not? We have time to think about it, as we don't want to put up for sale until March as the heating in the house isn't the best so we don't people walking in and feeling cold.

Re: Would you do this?
That would be a last reosrt type thing for me personally.
I would wait til March, Put it on the market and see what happens. Why sell short for less money when you may actually get MORE then its worth.
Ditto Agent.
Personally, I'm not sure how much I trust those kinds of ads, but again, that's just me.
This exactly. You never know what could happen so don't settle for less yet. It's slow out there but people are still buying/selling.
Ditto. I don't think I'd ever use one of those "we buy houses" companies.
