iPhone question

So excited...we got iPhones yesterday and I am in luv!  Problem is I can't seem to get the keyboard to show up when I try to post a response on here.  Even though I select the text box, it doesn't show up.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks!

Re: iPhone question

  • I wish I knew.  I get the keyboard to come up and I start to type, and then the keyboard dissappears mid-message.  Annoying.
  • Same with the Droid--there's some issue with JavaScript and smart phone web browsers. And I've only found two ways to work around this.

First method is...instead of using the usual box to type in, click on the HTML button the right top bar of the text box, another text box will pop up and type your message in there. If you do any kind of formatting (like start a new line), it won't show unless you do the HTML tags for it, ie. <br> for a new line.

The other method (if you want to still use the text box)--and this method is for quoting others too because you can't directly quote others in the HTML box--is to go into your browser settings, disable JavaScript, and then reload the page and you should be able to type in the text box and quote others directly. But it will affect your ability to see other pages (like Google, Facebook, etc) so remember to turn JavaScript back on after you're done posting.

That's all I know how to work around it. HTH!

  • I'm not sure if you've tried this, but go to Settings>Safari>Turn Off Javascript.
  • Thanks! It worked!
