triangle thrift/consignment stores

Hi ladies-- I hope everyone is staying warm and safe in this wintery weather.  I've been wanting to find some good stores for furniture pieces that I could possible refinsh.   I know lots of people go to Goodwill/Salvation Army type stores.  In Winston we had some furniture consignment stores that were fun to browse.  Any good places here you like to hit up?  I've been looking through Craigslist as well but people want lots of money for not great pieces in most cases.

Thanks for the suggestions! Sorry if it has been asked before.

Re: triangle thrift/consignment stores

  • Have you tried looking at the flea market that's held at the NC State Fairgrounds every weekend? There is a wide variety of treasure to be found there. I also love Goodwill/ Salvation Army, but don't know if they have much furniture at the ones around here. There is a big thrift store in Fuquay-Varina that has decent pricing and always seems to have a lot of furniture. I believe its called "Guardian Angel Thrift Store" or something like that. Its on Hwy 401/ Main St.  I also have found lots of great books there as well. Happy hunting!! :-)
  • Thanks for the suggestions! I have been to the flea market but only once since I moved over here in August.  It was summer and super hot out so I didn't spend a ton of time wandering.
  • I would check furniture follies. I haven't been since they moved a few years ago, but I used to really like them. Some of their stuff is a bit more expensive, but it usually isn't beat to hell and falling apart either. Good luck! http://www.furniturefollies.com/
