I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Mine wasn't too shabby.
Friday night on our way to dinner at TGIF's M and I came across a horrible dirtbike vs. SUV accident. 2 dirtbikes to be exact. Now granted the kids (they weren't really kids, one was 20 the other 25 but anyway) shouldn't have been on a main road with dirtbikes, but regardless it was horrible.
As soon as we saw there was 2 people on the ground M yelled "Babe, I know CPR I gotta go" so we pulled over and he jumped out of the car. I stayed in to stay out of the way. Now luckily neither of them needed CPR but it was bad. The one in my few clearly had a broken leg, but didn't seem bad. The other kid M went right over to and had to help 2 other people hold him down because he was in shock so he was yelling and screaming and kept trying to get up. both his legs were broken, one badly (he had a bone sticking out 6 inches), broke his nose and was losing a lot of blood. We stayed until EMT's, police and rescue got there. It was sad to see SO many people drove around it, the kid M was with was in the MIDDLE of the road and people just went right by, some even yelled out the window stupid things. We had to go home then go back out so M could change because he had blood all over him (didn't realize it till I told him when he got back in the car). There was an article in the paper the next day and sadly, the kid that didn't look bad ended up passing away. When I first read it I thought the kid M was with died, so I told him, then he saw the pic and told me that was the other kid. He tried all weekend to find a way to see how the other kid is doing, I ended up getting a hold of his sister and she and her parents were kind enough to send me an email this morning. Tomorrow night we are going to the wake for the kid who passed away.
Saturday we met with the Realtor, to find out our next step is to meet with a broker. We also found out, much to MY suprise that there is a no money down option but it's only available if we decide to move to NH. Other than that we need at least 3%.
Yesterday we went to the movies, went to lunch, then did some grocery shopping.
This weekend freakin' flew by like no one's business, it needed to be longer.
Re: Happy Monday.
So sad about the accident, I'm glad M stopped to help. Too many people think "someone else will take care of it" and no one stops. Prayers are with the families of the victims, and with both of you. Witnessing something like that can have a real effect on you.
Our weekend was pretty laid-back. Took the girls to meet their dad Friday night. We went to Colby on Saturday after Redneck got off work and got his hair cut. While we were there we went grocery shopping (woohoo!) and stocked up on meat - it was SO nice to go somewhere other than Walmart for food!
We had a lot of no-kids-around really wild adult time
Other than that, we did some chores/cleaning and I worked on the diaper cake. It was a good weekend overall, but I agree, way too short.
Wow--good for M and you for stopping to help! I'm sure it definitely made a difference-especially to the one 'kid'. Sorry to hear about the other one. That's sad...
My weekend went by fast! Fri-we didn't do much of anything-I was thoroughly exhausted from working out-maybe overdoing it? IDK.
Sat-worked, then went to hang w some friends who had some 'odd' news-not that it's bad, I just don't know what to think right now. 1. They're going on a cruise and it docks in Haiti. 2. The one (who made her husband get a vasectomy) is working on adopting a 12 yr old girl-she has a 15 yr old boy and her BF has a 12 yr old girl. She works a lot-has 2 jobs-and I guess I just have to realize it's not my business. I just find it odd.
Sun-Made an attempt to strip the chairs-um, it's farkin cold out! Yeah, I need to do it where it's warmer and I need to find 'patience' while doing it. Otherwise, not much... but...
Worried about our dog-she's 14 and she's been tripping lately. IDK if it's old age, or eyesight (she only has 1 good eye now) or what, but I do know DH isn't going to go overboard with medical/vet stuff for her due to her age, etc. Sad. It might be her time soon. I just don't know. She hasn't been eating the past few days, but will IF I put cereal or whatever in her bowl-like she's being picky and going on a hunger strike.
Wow, that's horrible about that accident. I'm glad M was able to help though. So sad.
Our weekend was really low-key. Friday I got together with some of my friends and went to dinner and saw a movie (It's Complicated-very funny btw!). The rest of the weekend DH and I just hung out at home. We got way more snow than predicted (about 6" or so), when we were only supposed to "maybe get a dusting." It's pretty to look at though.
I'm ready for Friday already.
Wow Sheri, glad you guys were able to help out!
My mom came to the Burg on Friday and we bought baby shower presents for my cousin's shower later this month. I got a bunch of car accessories she wanted from Target (sun shades, car organizer, etc.) and a very cute striped fleece for the fall (size 12 months) because I couldn't resist. It was only $4 at the Carter's outlet.
Saturday we got a foot of snow and stayed inside.
Sunday we spent most of the day shoveling. We don't own a snow shovel and Walmart and Lowes were out. We shoveled the driveway using a regular shovel and a dust pan. My arms and back are pretty sore today.
Today - My office has a 2 hour delay, but DH doesn't have to go in so I'm staying in too. I need to go to the grocery store later on.
That is so sad about the accident Sheri. So glad you and M stopped to help. There needs to be more people like you's in the world.
Friday - I was so sick. Must have caught the stomach bug that was going around. Layed on the couch all day and night watching Lifetime movies.
Saturday - repeat of Friday
Sunday - managed to get enough strength to go grocery shopping and cook dinner.
Weekend went by way too fast and I feel like most of it was wasted since I was sick. Looking forward to next weekend!
Wow Sheri what a crazy weekend. So sad.
My weekend was laaaaaaaaaaaaame.
Friday DH and I were supposed to go out to a bar for the ex's bday. We were so tired. Totally didnt go. So lame. Everyone we know was there
Saturday I got up early and went wedding dress shopping with my friend and her entorage! She tried on 7 dresses and bought the first one she tried on. Super pretty! Then we went to lunch, It was barely past noon, so I had a strawberry mojito, went home and took a nap! Then DH had a few guys over and they had a jam session in our dinning room.
Sunday My Sdad came over and installed my new Stove. I used to have just a cooktop, so he had to cut out all the shelvingand cabinets that were under the cooktop. Thought it would only take 2 hours...it took SIX. BUT I have a new stove oven combo! So now I have 2 ovens and am over the moon excited about that!
Sheri - good for you and M for stopping! Give M a hug for me, and tell him I said that he's my hero!
Amlinton - I hope you feel better, dear!
My weekend was pretty decent
.
I worked late on Friday, so we just had dinner, ordered Julie and Julia from our movies ondemand, and went to bed early.
Saturday, we went for a nice long walk at the beach, and then did a thorough apartment cleaning. We ran a few errands and picked up sushi for dinner, watched another movie, and went to bed early again
.
Yesterday, we went to the gym, did the rest of our grocery shopping, and then went to a friend's house for dinner.
Overall, it was a relaxing, productive weekend, and I made it to bed by 10 every night! That was exciting. Because I'm old.
Whoa Sheri that accident you encountered was probably really scary. And I'm so sorry that that one kid passed away.
My weekend was pretty awesome. Saturday we went into San Francisco and went to buy CDs and movies. We BOUGHT a ton of new music and then also bout Lost Highway and Straight Story on DVD (hubby is a HUGE David Lynch fan, can you tell?).
Sunday was hubby's show! He started a run through of all the songs with his bass player around 5 and we headed out the bar around 8. They didn't play until 11 (!) and we didn't get home till past midnight but it was well worth it! So fun AND they want him to come back and play! Woohoo! I'm such a proud wife right now.
As I told you before, you guys are awesome for stopping. I'm sorry it ended up the way that it did.
Our weekend was pretty lame. Brother came over to hang out. I boiled some peanuts and then we went to my ILs for dinner and medical history discussion. Joy.
