waaaahoo. So glad to have that done. Filed online and now I'm patiently awaiting my refund!!! whoot.

Too bad it's all going straight to savings and I won't see a dime of it for a long time. Thinking long term is good... but not fun when I can think of all the pretty things I could buy with this surprise money.

ah well, such is life.

I did them yesterday! We got a nice surprise, too. DH's withholdings were screwed up most of the year so we thought we'd have to pay. Nope! I didn't count on the deductions, so we'll get some back. Whoo-hoo!

Yay! I'm anxious to see what we have to pay and/or get back, since this is my first year with my business and also our first year married. I meet with my accountant next week. Eee! Congrats to you!

No! I'm so mad about it, too. My job I got laid off from received my papers last Monday, and just put them in the mail to me today. They held on to it for 2 weeks. Grrrr!

we're still waiting on DH's tax docs but I've done everything I can without his. praying for a refund this year! we've had to pay out significant $$ the last few years...

We're doing it this weekend. First time filing together. Kind of sad that I can't use my guy back in NY who somehow always manages to hook me up (legally. He's just an old IRS guy and knows some secrets...). Decided just to file jointly this year - here's hoping for a big fat return! (pfft)

I dread it each year because my broker takes 20 years to get my papers to me and then I have to schedule time with my accountant who is my BFF's sister. She does it on the weekends at home - so it's just finding the right time. So far we only have 1 out of 3 W2s. This is frustrating.

i always wondered... are there advantages to filing separately? i tried looking up the differences online, and i couldn't find any benefits - at least that apply to me.
