tax peeps...help me!

I added my information for my student loans onto the HR block process I have started. It has a blank for tuition reimbursement...do I add this in if I did get reimbursed from my job? Is there a form I should be waiting to receive?

So far I have my W2 and 1098T....what do I include regarding my house...anything?

I usually just add the forms as they come in but want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Re: tax peeps...help me!

  • I'm not an expert by any means but I believe tuition reimbursement is tax free up until a certain amount (5250 i think). I also think that your employers automatically add it to your wages on your W-2 if you have exceeded the limit. You will be receiving a statement for your house (if you own). We are able to get ours online.

That's sorta what I thought about reimbursement.

Off to check BoA's website for house tax stuff...I'm impatient!

  • Ours is through BoA too and it was there already. Good Luck! Hope you get a good return to put towards your new house. Wink

the BoA website won't pull up for me! phooey!

  • the city of austin (or whichever city you're in) should have sent you a little postcard with your taxes paid if you own.

and then you can get the interest you paid on your mortgage through your lender.

  • I would call BoA's customer service. My info was on the website. You'll need the interest you paid on your house, the mortgage insurance amt (if any), and your property tax amt. This info will make a big difference in how much you get back!

ETA: Hays County does not send out information with how much you have paid in property taxes but you can get that info from the BoA site.
