The dentist

Anybody else's DH dislike going to the dentist as much as mine does? The dentist's office called on Friday to remind DH that his appointment is today at noon. We only have one car, so I got up early so DH could drive me to work and keep the car for the day. When I reminded him this morning, he made all these (poor) excuses for why he couldn't go. I started to feel like his mother when I shot down his excuses, so I decided to just let it go. But he ended up taking me to work anyway. Maybe I should take bets on whether he'll actually go or not...

Dentist? No. Dr.? Yes. I had to nag that boy for months before he would go in to have an ingrown toenail removed. He said it bothered him and just kept picking at it which made me gag. He finally went in 2 weeks ago and is now amazed at how much better he feels. palm --> forehead

Mine is such a pain about the dentist. He didn't go for probably 5+ years. I tried to get him to go a lot, but eventually I gave up because he can make his own decisions and me nagging wasn't doing anything. He finally went a few months ago and needed 11 fillings and he's still having issues with them. If he would have just listened to me a few years ago he would have been in a much better situation.

I on the other hand go every 6 months. I hate it, but I can put up with being there for 30 mins in order to maintain my nice teeth.

lucky...I chuckled at the thought of your DH realizing how much better he felt after getting that ingrown nail removed. Men...

Maybe men are just really scared of the dentist. My husband put off a cleaning for years and is now painfully afraid of having his wisdom teeth removed and is now delaying that appointment. I think I'm going to have to turn into his mother and make the appointment for him.

Actually it is me who hates going to the dentist. I go, but I put off going so badly. The sound of the drill just makes me cringe!

Yeah, 11 cavities. They were mostly little ones that the dentist wanted to fill before they got bigger and became a problem. He's had to go to like 5 appointments to get them filled because they couldn't do them all at once. He admits now that he should have gone to the dentist a long time ago.

Mine didn't go at all through college and has a cavity issue similar to gmk's DH. I know my DH's teeth are one of the biggest things that bother him and he hates the dentist because every time he goes there seems to be something else wrong.
