I think we should start a new Monday tradition
I think since we all hate Mondays so much we should do a post every Monday about things were are happy about and things we are looking forward to about the coming week. That may help alittle with the Monday funk, who's with me?
Re: I think we should start a new Monday tradition
.: Diary of a Recovering Runner :.
Ok I'll start, Things I am happy about:
Our move when pretty well and MH and I worked really well as a team
I like our new place
My cats don't seem too traumatized (they hid together for awhile but seem to be ok now)
MH has tonight off
MH is making salad for dinner and I love salad night
Things I am looking forward to this week:
The crib coming on Thursday
My office manager going back to St Maarten on Saturday for six more weeks! She has only been home for a week (and then this coming week) and I swear it's felt like a month!
Getting my taxes done and overwith this weekend
Finishing organizing my new place
Maybe going to breakfast on Saturday with a friend I haven't seen in awhile
Going back to the gym this weekend, it's been a hectic few weeks and I have been slacking
Things I am happy about:
Declan is healthy again and has his appetite back
I have an informal phone interview for a job I'm interested in tomorrow
My taxes are done
I got an awesome parking spot at work
My retention bonus was deposited into my bank account on Fri
Things I am looking forward to this week:
I have Friday off and so does MH
Starting to pack things up in our house so we can put it on the market
Things I am happy about:
The M&M's I got out of the vending machine. They are satisfying my chocolate temptation at the moment
My mom and MIL giving up their free time so David doesn't have to go into Daycare
Only 73 days left in busy season (but who's counting right)
Thinking of TTC this fall (I think DH and I have baby fever)
Things I am looking forward to this week:
David learning new words, it amazes me how much he is picking up
I am late but need some pickme ups!
Things I'm happy about:
My long lost friend found me on facebook and we were able to talk on the phone for an hour last night and are already planning to meet soon! It was so exciting!
Making friends with my new neighbor. She is from out of state and knows no one. Very sweet and I think she has a lot of potential for being a good friend. I could use some good friends and making new friends is one of my personal goals for this year.
My husband being back to normal with his health.
Thing's I'm looking forward to this week:

The super bowl this weekend
My brothers and BFFs bday on Saturday
Hopefully stacy having a baby this weekend since that's when I'm picking her to have him!
I'm late because I was having trouble coming up with things that made me happy yesterday. So here they are now!
- I have a new friend, Allie, who is amazing. We've only been hanging out the past month but she called yesterday to check on me and is just so freaking thoughtful. Plus, unlike one of my other good friends who I hang out with a lot, she adores her husband so it's nice to be able to have conversations with her about our husbands and not feel like I'm bragging...ha.
- I have a great husband. Yesterday was (hopefully) the hardest day of this year for him and he handled it so well.
Things I am looking forward to this week:
- Superbowl party at my house.
- Becoming members of our new church finally (you have to take a class to become a member and MH finally agreed we should take it...I've wanted to for awhile but I wanted us to do it together).
- Getting some new furniture. We go shopping today!
I'm also late but here goes:
Things I'm happy for:
--MH and I have been working very well together and COMMUNICATING. It makes me feel so close as a couple, and is HUGE leaps and bounds from where we were 3 years ago when we moved (and even last summer, I'd say.)
--MH's willingness to work. This is specifically aimed at our marriage. He spoke to his friend yesterday (the one his wife just up and said "I'm out." She told him a few times she wished he'd be more affectionate, etc, and his response was typically "You knew I wasn't lovey dovey when we met.") That could've been us. Very easily.
--Where we're headed with our future... we're not where we want to be (financially, physically, maritally, if that's a word), but we talk things through, and have been doing well to touch base regularly, think things through, and look at the bigger picture to get us where we want to be.
--Health insurance. I may b!tch about it sometimes when they screw something up (which I anticipate happening again following yesterday's appt), but I cannot imagine not having it. I had 5 x-rays yesterday; the thought of having to pay for them without insurance makes me want to vomit.
Things I'm looking forward to this week:
--This week is just the kick off of a ton of work to come, but I'm looking forward to getting started so the end can come. But also that MH and I are working together through it. Again, that is such a sweet, emotional feeling when we're able to do that.
--FIL/MH are bringing up our new appliances Saturday. No, I won't actually be using them, but it's still a very happy feeling to know I'm getting them and can't wait to use them.
--Buying the paint for the duplex. Yup, I'll complain at the final bill, BUT buying the paint is a commitment to making it all what we want.
Can't wait!
--Taking tonight kind of off. LOL I say kind of because MH is taking it fully off (he's not feeling well); I have to grocery shop and will be doing so at Walmart so I can hopefully get some cleaning supplies. But beyond that, it's a fairly laid back night.
--I guess I should be looking forward to having my hair cut & colored Friday night. LOL Can't wait for the color because I love it. The cut.. I'm so undecided, it's a mixture of feelings.
