I've had some friends who are getting quite surprised. They're owing more instead of breaking even. Makes me dread doing them!

Yes! I was feeling anxious about whether we would owe or get some back b/c last year was kind of funky - DH was unemployed all but 1 month and I had decreased my witholdings since we had a large refund last year. I wanted to find out so we could plan our expenses accordingly if we owed. We still ended up getting some $ back. We e-filed and the estimated date for our fed. refund is Feb. 12. Who knows when we'll see the state refund, they held onto them forever last year.

I think we might try to do them this week. I'm anxious to see what's going to happen. We sold some stock this year, so I don't know if we'll get a refund like we did last year.

I'll finish them up tonight; everything is already done except listing our donations. I've been lazy & haven't added up all our donations from the past year. I kept putting it off this weekend. As of right now, it looks like we'll get back just about the same amount as we did last year.

this year, we're going to have a professional tell us what else we can do so that we don't owe next year.

Maybe you have a more complex situation, but have you tried this to help determine how much extra to withhold?

I think we are just waiting on a 1099 from one of DH's off duty jobs. Once we get it, we're good to go.

Taxes are done and refund should be in my account by next week. I have already filled out the FAFSA for my son and myself also. But I will admit I am one of those wierd people who finishes x-mas shopping in October. My DH says I am the " Bree Van DeKamp" of Jamestown..lol...sorry

Not yet. I hate doing them b.c I get frustrated b.c I HAVE TO DO THEM. Dh is like well I don't know how - follow the effing directions. GRRRR. I hate getting frazzled by something so stupid, b.c no matter what I do we owe or there was a mistake and we got an overpayment or some sh!t like that.

We are both waiting on our 1098-T forms from our respective schools. I have no idea how things will wind up for us this year, because I was in school and had a fellowship, and DH worked half the year and was in school half the year. With what we've entered so far it looks like we'll get a little bit of money back, but I don't know how that will change once we get these last forms.

I did ours... just waiting on my W-2 from short term disability. We are getting A LOT back. So exciting. We will be credit card debt FREE when we get our refund!!
