Last year you gave me the name of Farmer Erin and DH and I have been seriously considering the idea for this year. If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a few follow-up questions.
We have a garden that we do ourselves and wondered if we would be too overwhelmed with produce. (Last year though, our squash didn't take at all and the corn was just gross. But our toms were safe and DID not get hit with the blight!!) Did you and your DH split with someone or did you do a complete share? She has a pretty exhaustive list of produce so anything that we grow would be purely for our own convenience. Did you find that you had a wide variety each week with a smaller quantity of each OR a smaller selection with a larger quantity?
Either way is a win-win for us as we love to garden and supplement from the Farmer's Market. Just curious what your experience was last year. Thanks for your help.

Happy to share anything that can help. We didn't share with anyone so ate the full share. If we had our own garden on top of that, I would have grown more lettuce and bell peppers because those were about the only 2 things we ran out of each week for salads. But we both bring big salads for lunch each day.
Overall we felt like we had a good variety of many types of things. There were some staples that were there each week once they came in season (carrots, potatoes, onions). Then, as with farming, there were some things that we did get sick of- zucchini, eggplant, cabbage. But the nice thing is that she often offered choices (like take 2 cabbage or 2 zuchhini,etc.) Even things that were staples she had many varieties- tons of greens, different lettuce, cabbage types,etc. This year she's having garlic, so we can't wait. The pick your own herbs were tremendous too- it was pretty much all the basil, cilantro, oregano and dill that we wanted every week. The flowers were nice too.
She tried corn for the 1st time and it didn't do too well, so she's trying something different to grow it this year. Also, her tomatoes got blight, so no tomatoes :-( Everything she did grow was absolutely delicious. DH doesn't like eggplant, cabbage or squash- so I was eating those a LOT. She had a lot of different squash in the fall.
One suggestion I made on the year end survey was to post on the blog or website what each week's share would be made up of, so that we could plan ahead with recipes,etc. The nice thing about summer is that pretty much anything we didn't know what to do with I threw on the grill. I ate a TON of grilled eggplant and zucchini this year!
