do we have a tax person?

we're stumped on whether or not DH's school is a qualified business expense or not. i've already called the IRS, done hours of research, and i'm still uncertain which way to go!

just looking for additional input if there's someone on the board who is a tax pro Smile

Re: do we have a tax person?

  • ... if we do have one, it just occurred to me that you may not want to come out of hiding for fear of being bombarded with Q's the rest of the tax season! lol. Stick out tongue
  • It should be deductible.  I've done a whole lot of research on the subject since I'm doing the alternative teacher certification.  E-mail me with the exact question and what exactly he went to school for (certificate, degree, or just classes), how much it cost, how it was paid for, and what the job is.

Edit: forgot my email...my screenname at msn.

  • we use turbotax and it asked very specific questions to find out which way DH's school could be deducted (and where he could get the most money back). As well as the extras that the school charged.
