Kitchen Remodel

We are looking to remodel our kitchen in the very near future. Please recommend your designer/contractor. TIA

Re: Kitchen Remodel

  • We used Lowes on Beechmont Ave.  The contractor they use is excellent!
  • Kitchen cabinets and design came from Wayne at Kelly Bros (http://www.kellybros.com).  I think Wayne (owner) only works at the KY location but they also have a Blue Ash location.

Granite counter tops and backsplash came from Sharon at Ohio Tile (http://www.ohiotile.com/).

Hardwood floors (site-finished) were installed by Adam Shaw of Shaw Hardwoods (http://floorsbyshaw.com/).

All installation (including adding an exterior hood vent and new lighting) except floors was done by Dan Corbin (http://www.corbinbuilders.com/).

Would reco them all.  Let me know if you need add'l info or want to see pictures.

  • Looking forward to seeing the replies!  Would you mind sharing your budget??  We need to get our kitchen done, but, everything we've looked at is SO expensive!  I'm wondering if anyone can do this with a reasonable budget!?
  • I recommend Glasgow Construction (www.cinciremodeler.com)  They have done numerous projects at our house and we've been pleased with all of them.

we have not set a budget yet. We are going to get a couple of quotes and go from there.  We are hoping to go with a mix of high end details with moderately priced elements.  What do you think is reasonable?

  • I used Home Depot in Dayton.  Most of my cabinents came with dings or marred finishes and the subcontractors who installed the cabinents were awful.  A friend who lived in Montfort Heights also used Home Depot and she had the same subcontractors.

We have a tiny galley kitchen and the first quote we got was around $35000 which I thought was outrageous for such a tiny space.  Then, we priced at Lowes which seemed much cheaper.  Now, we're wondering if we should go with IKEA, we've priced it at about $10-15,000.  Our place is small and we won't be staying here for long, we just want something that looks nicer that our original kitchen from the 70's then if future owners want to upgrade they can.
