Jenny!

I pulled a dog out of a high kill shelter yesterday- he's a senior (8 plus years old) and I will start crate training him today. He would have nothing to do with it yesterday so I will let you know what works- I'm going to do my method, but he's so much older than my other fosters so we'll see!

Re: Jenny!

  • Thanks so much. We are going to start next week I have to go buy another crate. I have been catching her sticking her head into the other one and then yesterday she actually walked into it. So I hope she is getting used to seeing my other dogs in it.  This morning when I woke up I took her downstairs and put her in front of the crate and my other dogs were in there and she smelled and didn't run away so I think we are making progress!

  • PS thanks for keeping me updated and I hope everything goes well with this dog and you find him an owner!!

  • Thanks! That is definite progress. Mine barked his head off all night until DH let him out. I don't even think he *needs* a crate, but I'm going to train him anyway, just so he at least eats and goes in there if we have people over.

He has 3 legs. He's so cute. I'm not naming him until he gets blood work and the growth on his belly checked out this afternoon.

  • Send me a picture later. My friends have been fostering a little german shepherd puppy and they brought him over last night and I wanted him so bad.

Okay. He's a border collie. He's not in the best shape, but I need to take pix for progress anyway. He is getting groomed this morning then we go to the vet for his blood work so I will take one this afternoon and do an AW post of him :)
