I'm just curious how long of a drive everyone has to work....
(I'm attempting to prove a point to a coworker, or atleast hoping to pending your answers)
Re: Your Commute to Work....
I drive about 24 miles and it takes me about 45 mins to get there in rush hour on a good day, sometimes an hour. However only 25 mins to get home. Go figure.
I have to take public transport but it can range from 25 minutes (on a rare awesome day) to over an hour.
DH drives to work and it takes him about 45 minutes to an hour.
It does sound that way but it's a nice drive all interstate, not alot of traffic at all. Plus DH and I ride together so some mornings I get a nap.
I'm 1.5 hrs door to door/ 29 miles each way
When I move, 1.75 hrs/53 miles (less traffic) each way
We're a 1-car couple (parking downtown is EXPENSIVE - roughly $60-100 a month depending on the garage - so no driving for me). So DH and I leave work at 7:50ish - he drops me off at the bus at 8:05ish and heads off to work (to get there and clock in before 8:30). I will either catch the 8:08am bus or the 8:18am bus and get to work between 8:30 and 8:40am.
So in all, it takes me 40-50 minutes to get to work. We can't wait until we buy a house closer to work and public transit!
