I need a hair cut. (vent)
I really should allow myself to get a hair cut. It hasn't been done since mothers day. I feel all...frumpy. It needs colour. It needs definition...it needs...to not be a curtain of boring mouse brown. It's getting so long. Sigh...I also need clothes. I haven't bought myself clothes in forever either. It's official. I need to spend money on me maintenance... Now where to find that money...

I'm in the same boat! I always had really long hair, but the past few years I've kept it in a shorter style. DH and sis both convinced (read: harassed) me into growing it out...it's a mess. The colour is horrible. I need a trim, the shape is all gone, it's so blah! Do you have a friend who can do a colour and highlight for you? I have had great success doing my friend's hair with one of those at-home casting kits. They're less than $20!
Could you go to a cheapie First Choice type place? They wouldn't do the fanciest cut, but even a trim would probably make it feel a million times better. And I agree with Mel's suggestion - a box of dye from the drug store could give you a boost of colour. I've never used them, but I know people who do and don't notice that big of a difference from getting it professionally done.
Go take care of yourself Sam - you deserve it! Mothers day was a long time ago!
