Do you guys still do stuff for Valentine's?

We're actually going on a couple's retreat to Myrtle Beach with our church that Friday night.  Good friends of ours are going as well.  The four of us are going to stay that Saturday as well and go to the Brazilian Steakhouse for dinner.  Sunday = outlets time!

 What are your plans?

Re: Do you guys still do stuff for Valentine's?

  • I think we are just going to dinner at 131 Main. Unless DH has something planned as a surprise. Which is not likely.

  • Two of our best friends are visiting, and I might be getting an IUI. Needless to say, plans are a tad up in the air! I'll have my decorations up, and we'll celebrate somehow, but plans are TBD.
  • Myrtle Beach sounds like so much fun! :)

We try to do things on Valentine's Day because that is also DH's birthday, so it's like a double whammy of celebration.

This year, we'll probably just go out to dinner or something.

And some sex will be involved.

    Awesome.

  • Bif usually makes me dinner on V-day.  Last year it was Chicken Saltimboca, homemade bruschetta, and raspberry tiramisu. Yummo!
  • Nah, we just had our anniversary last month and are on a tight budget right now. I've never really been into v-day anyway.
  • I'm considering our V-day treat this year that we are going to the UNC alumni game and spending the night without the kiddos!!!  It's 2 days before V-day, but it's good enough for me!

  • Last year DH went to a hockey game on Valentine's Day.  He made it up by taking me out for dinner later that weekend.  Worked fine for me, I don't like fighting the crowds anyway.

No plans as of yet for this year.....we'll see

  • We hadn't talked about it. We'll probably celebrate with a dinner out, but probably on a night other than Valentines. Or maybe we'll do lunch instead. Last year we did taxes, but we ruined this years romance by doing it this past weekend.
  • We haven't ever really gotten into V-day. If we can we'll go to dinner, but that's about it.

DH is always working and this year it falls on President's Day weekend so I'll hardly see him.

  • We got married Feb 13th last year, so we are going back to Gatlinburg for our anniversary.

  • I've only ever used Vday once - and it was as an excuse to get nice jewlery (Tiffany's, woot woot)

Other than that, we've never done anything.

A couples retreat awesome actually- sounds like a good way/time to "reconnect" with him. We need that right about now.

  • Only because my husband uses any excuse to buy stuff. I think out goal this year to keep costs down is to go to Barnes and Nobles together, buy books and coffee.

  • We're going to spend an extra day in DC when we visit my cousin this weekend. We'll roam around the mall, visit a museum or two, & find at least one new place to eat. I guess that's our early valentine's day "date" for us. We typically just go out for a nice dinner sometime the week before or after (we both hate eating out exactly on the 14th).
  • We are going to Myrtle Beach that weekend as well.  So since we are doing that we will definately go to the outlets and have plenty of jacuzzi time!

  • We usually go out to dinner. Someplace cheap this time though since we just went out to Ruth's Chris last night.

  • We always do the same thing every V-Day - a night in with wine, fire, and fondue.  Every year we pick a new recipe to try, but this year I want to go back to one we made years ago (inspired by the Melting Pot's spinach & artichoke fondue - AMAZING!).  Since it is on a Sunday this year, we may go for a hike or do something outside during the day.
  • We will be on a cruise (which had nothing to do with Valentine's Day)

so that will be exciting in itself!

Normally we will go out to dinner or something but usually not on the day. We don't buy big gifts. We do celebrate our annys

  • The last few years we've "observed" Valentine's in a low-key way: making a special dinner at home, etc. This year DH's parents and brother (and possibly BIL's girlfriend) will be in town, so we'll probably do a "double-date" with BIL/gf on Valentine's Day; DH's parents are going out to dinner w/ friends that evening. We'll probably just cook dinner at home with them, dividing up the cooking duties among us.
  • We always do something different. This year the plan is P.F. Changs and seeing that new movie, Valentine's Day, with the rest of the world. And I have to get my DH Reeses, as long as he gets Reeses he's a happy man
  • we're having a bottle of wine and making our giordanno's pizza that we brought home in november.  we usually don't do anything.

  • We usually celebrate with cards and a special dinner, the last few years DH has made dinner at home instead of going out.

No plans for this Valentine's yet, probably just a nice dinner at home.... and our anniversary is a few weeks afterward so hopefully we'll go out to celebrate that!

  • I have no idea.  I told Nate that I'd like him to think of something, but I think we'll just order take-out & dine in after the boy is down for the night
