Philly Nestie coming to Boston - Restaurant Rec?

Hello,

My husband and 6 of our friends are coming to Boston March 12-14 and are looking for places to eat each night. We are staying in the Copley Square area and are looking for something with a nice atmosphere but not a ton of money. We just don't want to wonder around aimlessly looking for something.

Since there are so many of us I'm thinking American food would be the way to go, maybe Italian or Mexican.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hmm, Copley Square ain't cheap, but check out the following:

    Atlantic Fish Co.
    East Ocean City (Chinatown)
Finale (specializes in desserts, but also serves meals)

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Thanks! I suppose we can go outside Copley Square and then drive back to the hotel if there is somewhere else we should go. I've never been so I don't know what to expect. I appreciate the help :)

  • Oh, I don't know why I didn't mention it before, but head into the North End (our Little Italy) and pick any of the restaurants there, then head over to Mike's Pastries or Modern afterwards for dessert.  Some of the other ladies will probably have specific restaurant suggestions in the North End, but really pretty much any restaurant there is good.

  • Definitely hit the North End - I wouldn't drive, take a cab - it will save you a lot of hassle with parking and trying to navigate around the city.

Trattoria il Panino on Parmenter St. is amazing

  • Go to the North End (and ditto MrsT - take a cab! There is no parking in the North End) and go to L'Osteria. YUMMMMM. It's the next best thing to eating in Italy.

  • In the North End, I love Prezza. It's moderately priced with a great atmosphere.

If you wanted to stay in the Copley Square area, I love Sonsie on Newbury St. Again, not super super expensive but a great atmosphere (and an A-list spot for Boston).

  • Sounds great. Thanks again!

  • Parish Cafe is really good and not too expensive and  really close to where you will be staying.
