V-Day Gifts?

So apparently v-day is pretty much next weekend.

I was just wondering what everyone got DH?

Re: V-Day Gifts?

  • I'm just doing my usual collage poster that I make him every year.  I do like a year in review in pictures and I just replace in the same frame every year.  We're forgoing gifts since we basically bought each other the babymoon to the Bahamas in a few weeks.
  • We are just doing a card this year.  If we end up putting an offer in on a house that will end up being our gift :-)
  • we don't really do gifts - we'll cook dinner together, have some champaign, and maybe I'll pick up some Godiva from union station on the way home from work Friday :-)
  • Nothing, just cards.
  • Every year we write a list of 10 reasons why we love each other... the list changes every year and its fun to go back and read the old ones.  I need to start on it for this year... haha...

I may get a small gift for him, but don't know what yet...

  • Nothing...we don't do the whole Valentine's day thing.
  • We just do cards and I make him dinner.
    Married 6/10/09 in Bermuda.
  • I'm getting us massages- not so much a V day gift as a necessity of being a parent! ;)

As a rule, we don't do v day since it's a huge work day for dh. Our typical routine includes a glass of port and a few teuscher truffles snuggled in front of the fire post work. Then Sunday brunch..

  • We just do cards.  And we're using gift certificates from Christmas go out to dinner :)

    I love this idea!!

  • We have done gifts and a nice dinner every year that we have been together.  But this year we are skipping gifts since we are saving for our house down payment/paying off bills.  We might still go out on the town for dinner and drinks...or we may just watch movies and eat pizza at home in our pj's.
  • Last year was the first year we celebrated it, I was anti V-day before that. I am making DH something from myself and something from Alexa. I will post pics when I am done :)

  • We'll probably go out to dinner and DH usually get me a card and candy, but I don't get him anything (is that bad??) We're pretty low key for v-day...although this is our first one being married so who knows

  • We go out somewhere fancy for dinner (somewhere we wouldn't go unless it's a special occasion) and cards. Sometimes DH surprises me with a GC for a massage or to my favorite store. Since Vday is a Sunday this we might do brunch instead of dinner.
  • We avoid the crowds by picking up or cooking for eachother.  We're usually very low key.  But like pp said, this is our first as a married couple so things could be different this year.
  • I bought Erik a 6-month membership to the beer of the month club (12 beers per month) - it was pretty reasonable.  He'll probably get me either a trip somewhere or some pandora charms for my bracelet.  And since he's off this year, we'll make prime rib dinner together.  We're both off the following day, so that will be extra nice!
  • We're going to make dinner together. That's it. No gifts, no cards. Works for me.
