Poll: Water temp in shower

I like the water hot, but I never thought it was scalding. When DH gets in with me he says my temp preference burns him and he turns it down.

I thought it was just b/c I'm cold natured and DH isn't, but BFF says she and her H have the same issue.

It made me wonder if it's a male/female thing or just personal preference.

How about you?

DH thinks I keep the water too hot as well. He always turns it down. Punkface. I don't think its that hot at all but he swears I try to burn him.

I dont' know if our water heater has a "safety" on it or anything, but our shower water never gets above a certain temperature. It's very comfortable for Dh and I--and it's sort of comforting to know that we can turn it all the way on and never worry of it burning. It's probably a few degrees cooler than what I would prefer, but I'm not cold by any means--because of that, though, I think the temp is perfect for DH.

I definitely like a hotter shower than DH. Then again, I am always cold and he's always hot, so it makes sense!

It's like an epidemic!

When DH turns down the temp I feel like I'm going to freeze. It's made me hate taking showers with him because we spend the whole time doing the water temperature dance. I just want to enjoy a hot, soothing shower.

I can't say that I've ever thought much about shower temperature when I'm in the shower w/ DH aside from knowing that when I'm in the water I'm warm, and when I'm not I'm cold. We have a teeny shower so being out of the water means you're either close to or touching the cold tile. I do think I like it warmer than DH, though. I can't find a right temp for our shower, there's a certain temp that I find warm (but not warm enough) and when I adjust it slightly up it gets scalding quickly. Whenever I've told this to DH he thinks I just suck at adjusting the temp, but I think he has never had this problem b/c he doesn't like it as warm as I do.

Terp, I think DH has that same thought. Warm in, cold out.

When he turns the shower off he sticks his arm out of the curtain to get his towel. Then he drys himself in the shower with the curtain closed. If I open the curtain before he is dry he freaks out b/c he says I'm letting all the warmth out.

I take HOT showers and DH always complains (which could explain why I can't stand to be in the bath tub for more then 10 minutes and DH can be in there for hours)

Weird...same for us. We both like it hot, but he always thinks mine is TOO hot.

I guess I'm the freak here then. I like warm showers - I got used to them after I found out that hot showers were contributing to my dry skin issues. DH takes scalding showers compared to mine. He always complains that he's freezing whenever he gets in the shower w/ me. I can't even stand under the water temp he likes for very long.
