XP-Which Are You?

DH and I were talking about sleep the other night. From the time I fall asleep until my alarm goes off in the morning I typically wake up maybe 2-3 times-either to go to the bathroom or just to roll over (and peek at the clock). DH said that 99% of the time he falls asleep and doesn't wake up until his alarm goes off-NEVER wakes up! He thinks it's weird that I wake up every night and I think it's weird that he doesn't. I honestly don't remember a night ever that I slept the entire night without waking. So....what type of sleeper are you??

**Oh, and don't factor kids into the mix! Obviously we both wake up now that DD is here (although I think he sleeps through a lot of it!)-we're talking no kid sleep!

Re: XP-Which Are You?

  • I'm normally a VERY sound sleeper and do not wake up. So sound that my ridiculously loud alarm clock doesn't do the trick some mornings. Jeff thinks its so wierd! :)
  • I sleep like a log too - I am dead to the world as soon as my eyes close, and I also have to crank up the volume on my alarm clock to "air raid siren" to wake up in the morning!
    PersonalMilestone
  • I always wake up 2-3 times a night.  Highly unfortunate.  I wish I could sleep more soundly.

  • I normally sleep like a rock. Sometimes I will wake up an hour or so before the alarm, but no problem going right back to sleep. DH is not a good sleeper, and he gets jealous.

I swear I could sleep on demand- give me 10 minutes and I can crash anywhere!

  • For the Husband - he mainly sleeps through hte night, unless there is some disturbance to wake him (me or the dog)

For me - most nights, I sleep through the night - although maybe once a week, I wake up a few times... and I almost always wake up 10 minutes before the alarm - which might be the most aggravating thing ever.

  • I am the lightest sleeper ever.  I even sleep with a big ol fan to drown out noises (car doors, snow plows, etc.) but I still wake up prob. 2-3X a night too I go to the bathroom 2X a night and then the 3rd is usually to just look at the clock. I also hit the gym at 5:30 at for classes every AM so I wonder if in the back of my head I am wondering if I am going to be late or something.

DH is just a disaster sleeping he flops all over the places (doesn't help my sleeping ) but I think he sleeps mostly through the night.

  • I usually sleep soundly right through the entire night.

DH gets up to pee, drink water, take a tums, etc - but not every night.

  • DH and I are both light sleepers so unfortunately, if one of us wakes up, the other does too.  We've been trying not to drink as much in the evenings in an attempt to prevent us from having to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.  It helps, but I still may wake up usually at least once.

  • I'm usually dead to the world until around 3:30 or 4am, then I have to go to look at the clock or go to the bathroom, then dead again until my alarm goes off at 5:15. I wish I didn't wake up. Doing it so close to my normal wake-up time really messes me up.
  • depending on how tired i am i will be a more sound sleeper.  i.e. if i am really tired i will sleep more soundly (which is why i keep ds' monitor on HIGH lol), whereas if i am not tired at all i will wake up a million times.

  •  I so rarely wake up. Pretty much only if I drink a big glass of water shortly before bed. Occasionally (once a month?) I recall waking for a split second and rolling over. I also Never remember dreams, which physiologically, I must have?

More often than not I wake up in the same exact position I fell asleep in. My mom and dad are both "comatose" sleepers, so i think I came about it honestly ;)

I'm pretty sure I may just qualify for narcolepsy- at the very least, if I was a superhero, I think my power would be sleep

  • I am a very light sleeper. It is sort of annoying. If i'm really tired, i'll sleep through the night. If i go to bed in a creative mode, i'll wake up and have to jot down ideas. I seriously have a sketchbook by my bed so i don't forget my thoughts in the morning. Thank god i don't need that much sleep or i'd be in rough shape some days.
  • I roll from side to side several times a night and will always look at the clock.  DH is the same way and he often wakes up to go to the bathroom.
