Went to the wake
That was difficult. I lost it once we got in the main room because his mother's mother showed up and she ran right over to her and melted. We were asked by the kids father not to say anything to the mother. He gave M his business card and said he'd like to talk with us in a couple weeks. He did thank us.
I honestly do feel better now though.

I'm so glad you got a sense of relief from it, no matter how difficult it was. Like I said before Sheri, if it was my family member, I would be eternally grateful to you for sitting by him and holding his hand and reassuring him. No one wants their child to go through that alone and scared. You did something amazing that many people wouldn't have done.
You done good, kid.
I'm glad you were able to go, and I'm sure it eases the family's pain to some extent to know he wasn't alone.
I'm glad you feel a little better! Such a terrible and sad situation!
Hopefully they will contact you when the wound isn't SOO deep!
