update re: last week's interview
I contacted my potential new boss early in the week and he said I should hear "hopefully by the end of this week".
Anyways my current boss said he heard I had talked to him! Basically the guy I interviewed with asked my director's (bosses' boss) permission for me to be transferred to his group! So things are looking good.. Definitely not 100% sure but it is positive news. I am sitting on the edge of my seat 
If I don't hear back by the end of the week I will be contacting him early next week. Keep your fingers crossed!

Yep! Well my department is closing and I don't want to make a lateral move into another position, so I have been trying to find something that fits my career plan, this is it! I really hope I can get it... trying not to get my hopes up, I don't have enough experience - on paper this position requires 7 years experience and I almost have 5.

i have my second IV for a job on Friday that I am pretty interested in. we'll see how it goes. maybe it'll be a good day all around!
This makes it sound like you have it for sure!!! I'm guessing your current boss is now negotiating with potential new boss on when they would tranfser you based on projects you're working on/projects they want you for at new job etc. I hope they get back to you soon though, waiting to hear about a new job over a weekend is killer!
