Fun Dates

I know we have a post on this from time to time, but I'm looking for ideas on a fun dates with my husband.

We are in a "dinner and a movie" rut and in need of some better ideas. These could be during the day, at night, whatever - just something that is a bit out of the box.

Thoughts?

Re: Fun Dates

  • Funke Fired Arts does a fun pottery-throwing date night on the second and fourth Friday of each month. I think it's $30/pp. My H & I have taken classes there and we have a blast. You'll get a little mucky, but you can drink while you do it. (The wine they serve is cheap. I'd say BYOB, but that's me being snobby.)
  • It's not exactly unique, but we will occasionally go to Dave & Busters for dinner and games.  We both have a TON of fun
  • The aquarium is always fun.

I'll second Dave & Buster's. Crazy City is okay too, if you don't mind the ghost town that is the Tri-County Mall.

If it were warmer, I'd say go to the drive-in with a picnic and take in a double feature.

  • Final Friday at Pendleton Art Gallery...its free.  My husband is not into art and still loved it.  Also, during the summer there are free movies on Fountain Square on Friday.  Oh, and in the summer the drive-in theatre in Amelia is fun for a movie.
  • Duveneck Community Center in Covington gives Salsa lessons for $5 on Saturday nights. We used to take their class and then go to dinner. It was a ton of fun!

I think Crazy City is closed now.  I was up at Tri County a couple of weeks ago and they weren't open and the sign on the inside of the mall was gone.

  • Really? I guess that shouldn't surprise me with Dave & Busters being so close.
  • You could book a private yoga class and have an instructor come to your house. (Let me know if you need a recommendation - I know a bunch of yoga teachers.)

Also, you could take a cooking class together at Art of Entertaining.

Also, you could book a couples massage at your spa.

  • check out a wine tasting. I also second going to a final friday. the wine is cheap, but it is also free.

in the summer i like putt putt

  • These are some great ideas!!! Thanks. And keep them coming. We need a little fun in our lives right now.

  • Do your grocery shopping at Findlay Market one Saturday or Sunday afternoon.  We love doing that every once in awhile.

The Cincinnati Art Museum.  It's free and it's awesome.  Eat at the museum restaurant...it's really good.

They have First Fridays in Bellevue, KY.  All the unique shops are open late and then you can eat dinner at Bellevue Bistro or Virgil's Cafe.

Take a cooking class at Party Source.  It's so much fun.  Food and Booze!

  • see a show at arnoff or playhouse in the park. go to the museum and see an imax movie. i think its way too cold for a carriage ride downtown but that would be nice another month. go on a hike at hocking hills or down at the gorge.

  • I love all of the date ideas, this is great :)

    Here's our date usuals:

    Drive In movie

Take a picnic to the park (we like Eden Park).

Rollerbade or bike ride at Lunken, then eat at  http://skygalley.net/ (especially in the summer on the patio at night, you can watch the planes take off and land).  There is also a farmer's market we go to a lot.

    Go antiquing
