Ladies,
I'm a bit bummed, but I have now fully realized that we will not have the day off from the farm for our anniversary (mostly because we were traveling last week... Yay for New Orleans!)
So, I was thinking it might be nice to get up early and surprise DH with a tasty breakfast on Sunday morning. He's more of a meat and eggs kind-of-guy than a sweets and pastry type of guy. Any wonderful recipe ideas?
I will probably default to homemade breakfast burritos if I can't think of anything more creative. Any other things I could do with breakfast?
I can already feel the creative answers brewing! TIA!

Re: Anniversary Breakfast?
I love to cook! so here are some ideas:
french toast with warm maple syrup and powdered sugar sprinkled on it. You could also slice some bananas or strawberries with it too.
pancakes with whipped cream and fruit (strawberries, blueberries etc)(or chocolate chips and chocolate sauce)
you could make a breakfast casserole- either shredded hash browns or tater tots, a can of your favorite cream soup, some milk, cheese and eggs. place the potatoes in the bottom of a casserole dish. scramble a few eggs (6 maybe) add the can of soup and a half a can of milk to the eggs and whisk it together. Season with your favorite seasonings. pour the liquids over the potatoes and bake for 15-20 minutes (until the eggs are set) You can also add diced peppers or some other kind of veggie if you like
When it looks mostly done (I check it every 5 minutes) add the cheese over the top and let it cook till its melted
I hope those ideas help
oo that casserole sounds delish. .. Sorry you don't get to do anything to special on your anniversary! =(
sadly, i am not creative when it comes to breakfast. Chris likes a "skillet"... which for us means red potatoes chopped into cubes, onions & sausage . i put a little olive oil in the bottom of a skillet and cook everything together. then H cooks a sunny side up egg and mixes it all together. voila! a "skillet".. he loves it..to time consuming for me. just give me some scrambled eggs and i'm good.
