Sexless Relationships

Thought everyone here on this board would find this article interesting.

It's an article in Elle magazine about marriages where the rate of sexual intercourse is extremely low or altogether absent - and the couples are perfectly happy with it and have a good marriage.

Happy reading :)

Re: Sexless Relationships

  • We went through that for several months due to injuries he had then me..ack life ya know?  But we were totally happy just snuggling and really didnt even think about it.  Once we were healed we didnt jump right back into it until we were both having dreams of it and urges, then we knew we were ready and its been great.  But with house remodel its hard, we are both exhausted all the time.  we dont do it often but are fine with that...the exhaustion is just too much and we actually have fun working on the house together and seeing our hard work come together.  We take time out a few days a week after dinner for movie or just shopping and having fun with friends.  Other nights we are on a roll and work till 1am or so until our hands are shaking and we can't do anymore work without making mistakes.

Um, did you read the entire article?

  • that doesn't sound happy to me, that one lady had an affair and realized she shouldn't have married her husband, i think sex is an important part of marriage, i could never marry someone i was not aroused by.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I think that first woman's DH may be gay. Seriously? How do you go that long in a marriage without sex without there anything being wrong or the wife is pregnant? I can see a couple of months, but beyond that to me signifies deeper issues.
  • IMO,  if this is happening in a marriage, there's 1 of 2 things happening (or both, for that matter): One of the partners is gay/lesbian, or one or both are getting it somewhere else.

Actually I read the first page and half of page 2 then I got distracted so, no, I didn't finish the article.

I wasn't really posting it for myself... I was posting it because there have so many discussions about how often is often enough in a marriage - and I just thought this would spark some interesting talk.
