Re: Superbowl Clicky Poll
Yeah, yeah but they've done it before. Drew Brees and Reggie Bush for me!
I might have been more on their side if it hadn't come out that part of their game plan is to hit the opposing team's QB as many times as they can as hard as they can. The number of late hits on Farve in that game was disgusting so I'm no longer a Saints fan. I was in their corner all season until the Vikings game
Gregg Williams was just being honest - all defense wants to get into the face and hit the QB as much and as hard as possible. You want to get in their heads - which is part of reason you do it. Favre was knocked around (not late hits IMHO), but that's on the O-line, not on the defense. Plus, there are LOTS of rules to protect the QB, more than any other position on the field.
I'm rooting for the Saints - I normally root for whoever hasn't won.
Eh, it's football. I WANT my defense to have that game plan. I like Brett so it does suck but don't forget, the Vikings O-line practices all year to stop that from happening.
This is true, BUT that's their job! Favre knows this and knew going into the game what it was going to be like and so did the rest of the team. I think they really let Favre down, but he also let the Saints get to him and made some dumb moves. So, well played, Saints! If they were in the wrong more flags would have been thrown. The Saints on that game legitimately. The Vikings played great, but just weren't good enough.
