Finally got my video

So last night, DH and I went to our videographer's office and finally picked up our video. It was okay...I'm sure I could have paid a lot more and gotten a lot better quality, but it is what it is. I was prepared to pay a certain amount to settle up with the guy, and he told me a figure that was a lot less.

The problem they had was that the sound on our minister's mic kept cutting out, so they had to rerecord a few weeks ago. For our time and trouble, they discounted our price and said that they would be sending us some raw footage (I don't know what all that includes) in case we ever want to do something else with it. Not sure that I will, but I appreciate it nonetheless - I think they usually sell it for $600 more.

Anyone else gotten their video back?

  • I emailed mine on Jan 4th and she said it would be a couple weeks. I think it has def been that but I don't want to be a bugger :/

  • We got back my daughters...and I'm not sure what to think about it.  I thought I understood it would be edited, set to music, etc...but essentially it is a running film of the day, the good, the unattractive, the wonderful and the dull.  I think we are going to call her and ask gently about editing and adding music.  Confused
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
  • I've had mine for a while - since before christmas.  Our dude did a pretty good job after all was said and done.  I had to send ours back because the audio and video feeds weren't synched up the first try.  Looked like one of those foreign language movies where they dub english over it and you spend the entire time giggling about how the mouth doesn't match the words.  :)  At the time I was pretty bummed about having to be the one to tell the guy it wasn't up to snuff but now I'm fine.
  • We got ours back about a month after the wedding, but we also had some sound problems.  They told us about it before we got the video & since it was their fault and couldn't be fixed, we didn't have to pay the remaining balance due!!  We paid $100 deposit only and didn't have to pay the balance of $650!!  So that was definitely ok with us.

Oh, and luckily it was just their mic at the reception where people could come up and say a message to us, so it wasn't any of the ceremony or important stuff either!  They did give us that footage & not all the messages are bad & at least we got to see who did come up and say something-whether or not we can hear it!  So not a bad deal all in all.
