We were watching College Gameday on Saturday, and Lee Corso had this oddly shaped flag pin and I could not figure out what the heck it was. It looked like a backwards Maryland from a distance, or some otherwise amorphous blob.
Of course, I asked Mr.P and he (with his random military knowledge) knew right away that it was a stealth bomber.
I tried to find a picture for you guys, this is the best I could come up with. Now imagine it on a tan suit jacket, at TV lenth. Total amorphous blob.
And in case you were wondering, the picture of Obama without his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegience comes up with any Google image search even remotely related to "flag pin" (such as, stealth bomber lapel pin).
Re: Speaking of flag pins...
Isn't against the rules to screw with the image of the American flag or something?
my read shelf:
While I am proud of my plane ignorance, I would have known that one was a stealth. Sadly, I even know it's a B-2 bomber, but I only learned that since marrying the air force. I'm proud that I still can't identify the different fighter jets. I want it to remain that way. Right now my knowledge =me knowing that on this base, silver=us, and blue=Japan.
I don't think that's a violation of the flag manipulation. It's on everything (think: bikini). I think the violation is if you use a flag and can no longer tell that it's a flag.
