I need ideas

So MH has been really amazing lately and with the whole move he promised I wouldn't be stressed and he would take care of everything and he really has followed through. Today alone he worked from 10 last night till 8 this morning, waited for Comcast from 8-11 (of course they came at 11) then got up at 1 to meet the guy that is taking our washer and dryer from our old place, now he is getting rid of carpet from our old place (has to cut it up to throw it away) and then he is getting up to make me dinner tonight (I offered to do it when I got home but he said no he would take care of it, I am not a good cook so that may be part of it).  This is just one example of his amazingness lately.

Anyways the point of my rambling is that he has just been really great and I want to show him I really appreciate him. Any ideas? I wanted to try not to spend too much money because we are saving for my unpaid maternity leave but I wouldn't mind spending some.

I could do sexual favors but I am not feeling praticularly sexy lately.

 Any ideas? Thanks girls

Re: I need ideas

  • That's so sweet!  (on both of your parts)

Is there anything that you can buy him that would force him to sit down and relax a bit?  A video game or his favorite tv show on DVD that he would enjoy?

    Ummmm, magazine subscription?

  • Oh that is a good idea Mel, He got some video games for Christmas but I know a few DVD's he wants.

  • I agree with the movies because they are not too expensive and you can both enjoy them together!

  • With the DVDs write a him a letter/card thanking him for all he has done, how much it means to you, how he is going to be a great dad etc. Something meaningful.

  • I think the DVDs are a great idea! Maybe order in some dinner to go along with them one night (since you can't cook...otherwise I would have suggested that Stick out tongue) and enjoy a night in together.

Yeah I was thinking of trying to cook, I can cook steak tips and he likes those, he loves filet mignon and they had some at Trader Joes I may try to make!

  • If you go the DVDs, package them up with a tub of popcorn (like the kind you get at the movie store that comes strapped at the bottom of a tub), maybe a few boxes of his favorite movie candy.  You could also do a gift card to the movies with the note and say "Whatever movie YOU want to watch."  Of course, then you have to suck it up and go see whatever he wants to see. Wink

Or you could have me try and make him his favorite cookies. LOL  Not sure how fresh they'll be, but at this point, I could use the baking as stress relief.

Depends. LOL  I'm on a mission (once I can actually FIND anything in a kitchen) to recreate the ones from Walmart.  OMG, THE BEST COOKIES.  Big, thick, crispy melt-in-your-mouth edges with chewy centers.  And I think they had like White Chocolate Toffee.

You could just get those and repackage. Wink
