Where do you park if you drive into Boston?
Dh and I always end up parking in the Prudential Center garage and it costs around 20 bucks (probably because we're usually going to a Red Sox game..I have no idea what the regular charge is..). My bff is coming to visit next week and we'll probably make several trips into Boston so I was wondering if you all had any better ideas about where to park. We're probably going to be spending most of our time around the Back Bay area (except for our trip to the Sam Adams Brewery which I'm so excited about!!).
Re: Where do you park if you drive into Boston?
When we go to Sox games we park on the streets of Northeastern's campus or over by the MFA. DH went there so he knows all the roads around there. They're metered with 2 hour limits, but if you're not getting there until after 4, you can just pay the meter until 6 and then stay. On Sundays the meters are free.
Other than that I'm no help because if we can't find parking on the street, we end up in the Pru garage as well.
Ya for Sox games mostly we park at Wentworth, where my brother went, so I'm not much help either. That is definitely not allowed haha.
When we were taking our friends around Boston to see stuff this past fall we parked at the Common. I want to say it was around $11 to park there for the day, but don't quote me on that.
The Boston Common does have good rates, in comparison. If I ever go in for Red Sox games, I park at the Clarendon garage (on the corner of Dartmouth and Stuart St. across the street from the Fairmont Hotel, behind the Back Bay train station) It's straight off of the Mass Pike exit. I think night time parking is $9 (at least that's what it is when I go to the games).
Same here... Fenway area (Simmons grad alum) is always a good bet. I always drive around a bit too to see where I can park. I have really good luck so I do tend to find a space.
Newbury St has metered parking but it goes til 8 so becareful!
Ahh, I knew $11 was in my head for some reason.
I'm still scared to drive in Boston. Once I went to a little party thrown by my high school alumnae association, and I parked at the downtown Harvard Club- and then tried to get to Somerville so my friends didn't have to take a cab, ended up in the middle of Harvard Sq, and almost had a panic attack, lol. Thank god they were with me.
If we're going to do random Boston stuff, we park at the Alewife or Woodlands station, or in our friends' parking lot visitor spaces. I think if we ever make it to a Red Sox game, we'll try to park at my friend's apartment, she lives within walking distance of Fenway.
Once we met a friend near Fanueil Hall for dinner. He'd parked at that garage, which was a great location, but nearly impossible to get out of... and cost $32 for 2 hours.?
