I lost one of the side stones in my e-ring! I just looked down and noticed that it's gone. I have no idea when it happened, but I play with my rings fairly regularly, so I would have to guess that it happened since I've gotten to work. I looked around a little, but no luck. I hate the way it looks right now and almost want to take it off, but I can't imagine not wearing my ring after over a year and half.
Has anyone had something like this happen before? I'm going to get out the policy tonight to call the insurance company tomorrow morning, but I'm just wondering what the procedure normally is to get it fixed/reimbursed.
Re: So sad!
Boo. I'm so sorry, but try not to stress too much. This happened to my friend (a few friends actually). The one friend I am thinking of took it to her jeweler and they replaced it for free. I'm not sure what the other girls did.
That's a bummer Natalee!!
I haven't dealt with this myself, but everyone I know who has had to deal with insurance/jewelers, they have had good experiences.
And you gals think I'm crazy for not wearing my ering all the time. I'd be posting things like this all.the.time...
I lost one of my baguettes when my ering had to be cut off my little sister's finger (long story) and it had to be replaced. I emailed my jeweller to inquire about the cost of replacement, and then compared that to how much replacing the stone (and setting) through insurance would increase the policy. I ended up paying for the stone out of pocket, which sucked, but saved us more money in the long run.
Sorry about your ring...
I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

Yep, one of my stones fell out about 2 weeks ago. I handed the ring to DH, pointed to exactly where the stone was missing & he proceeded to turn the ring over flip it around, etc & said, "Huh, where's it missing?" That right there was the sign that I'm not getting it fixed....I pointed it out & he still missed it so I can only assume that nobody else will see that it's missing either. Although, I will be near the jeweler in a few weeks....if they are interested in "fixing" it, I'll let them but I am not paying anything over $20 to fix the teeniest tiniest stone I've ever seen in my life. BTW, I didn't even spend time looking for the stone b/c it's so small.

Same for me. I actually hit my hand on a metal doorway two weeks ago at work, I looked down while I was in the meeting and noticed a stone missing from my wedding band. I had to wait until the meeting was over to go look for it, but it was right in the doorway. So I was lucky.
I had to pay $20 for them to reset it, it would have been free if I would have taken it in for the 6 month check up, but I hadn't. If I didn't find the stone, I would have had to pay to replace it.
Now, I have my calendar marked so I won't miss the next 6 month check up.!
Good Luck Natalee. You definitely should call your jeweler first to see if it is covered.
