...then comes the cold sore. Ugh. Any remedies that you recommend?
This morning I bought Abreva, L-Lysine 1000 mg and LypSyl (which apparently has zync, lysine, beeswax and menthol in it).
Re: First comes the cold...
DH gets them whenever he gets a cold. He uses Abreva and that little tin thing of Carmex (I think that's what it's called).
I get one in the same spot every year, and it can be huge! I'm going to try that nail polish remover method. I saw it online, and if it works for you, I will try it. Have you tried ice?
I wish I had the tingly warning. I just wake up with them. I am trying to be very careful with everything I touch, using kleenex and q-tips. I just hope I didn't pass it to Scarlett! I'm pretty sure I put the handle-side of her pacifier in my mouth last night. Keep your fingers crossed!
I've never tried ice, but I know heat aggravates them. Mine are always worse in the summer. I take cooler showers and no baths whenever I have one. Also, this is totally gross & TMI, but I burst the lil blisters. The faster the thing dries out, the faster it goes away. Just have to be careful the fluid (ew) doesn't get anywhere else.
Fingers crossed for S! Don't let her share your chapstick/lipstick when she's older, I think that's how I got them from my mom at age 10
