Which is better and why Droid or Palm Pre with Verizon

I am on verizon and currently have the Blackberry Storm which I HATE HATE HATE. My previous phone was the Palm Treo before the storm. I need a smart phone, I want the Iphone but hate ATT so I have to choose between the Droid and the Palm Pre which I heard is also good but may soon go out of business.

Please help and give me your honest opinion.

After doing my research and looking into things, I'd say the Droid. This is not from experience, but merely from reading people's thoughts. It's also dependent on how you like the way the phone operate. Note that the iphone is supposed to be hitting Verizon in June. That's the buzz anyways, but not sure if you want to wait that long. I am praying the Droid price drops so I can get my hands on one. If not, the new BB curve with trackpad will be my new purchase. I haven't looked in depth at the new palm pre. Hopefully other people will chime in.

I was in the same boat as you a couple months ago. I also have Verizon and was eligible for my phone upgrade. I've been wanting an Iphone but also HATE AT&T. After doing research, I bought the HTC Droid. I've had it for 2 months now and absolutely love it! It's easy to use, small, and very similar to the Iphone. Also, you can't beat the price!

I just got a Palm Pixi, which I love. It's like my old Palm Centro (which I also liked) mated with an iPhone, and I'm liking it very much.

Not one of the ones you asked about, but I thought I'd throw that out there since you've had a Palm before.

I am not on verizon but wanted to let you know I made the switch a few months ago from the Palm Centro to the HTC Hero on sprint. I had been looking & planning on getting the palm Pre until I found out there was no video camera (something high on my list) when I looked at the HTC I loved everything about it. I have had it for a little over 2 months now & it has been a learning cure but every day I learn something new about it and very glad I left the palm family (I had been with them for over 5 years).

I have a palm pre and love it. Like you, I would love an iphone but will not move to AT&T. I have had several palms in the past and I'm not a fan of blackberry's. I love my pre and can't imagine being without it. I have not tried a droid so I can't give you a comparison.
