Funniest Moment with your DH

I saw this post on my local board and thought I'd stash it away for a day when we all needed a good chuckle.  Here it is:  What is the funniest moment you've had with your DH?  Can be totally mundane stuff that got you giggling or something outright hilarious that had you laughing so hard you cried.  Go!  :)

Re: Funniest Moment with your DH

  • After an insanely long day of working both my full and part time jobs, I came home to find Hubby stirring a bathtub full of frothy looking water with the handle of a broom.  My first thought was, "Oh how sweet, he knew how much I needed a bubblebath!".  I asked what he was doing and he sheepishly admitted that he decided it would be fun to see how the packing peanuts from our wedding gifts dissolved in water and had spent the ENTIRE evening playing with them instead of doing laundry like I had asked.  At the time, I didn't think it was terribly entertaining but now that time has passed, I can see how funny it was.  Just picture a grown man stirring a full bathtub of packing peanuts with a broom handle.  :-P
  • I think one of the ones was Easter last year.  His cousin was hosting an Easter luncheon, and we went.  I brought a cheesecake I made (recipe on FB) and we kept it in the fridge until it was time for dessert.

DH, trying to be helpful, offered to get the cheesecake out of the fridge after the meal, and I told him to go ahead, and to put it on the platter we had brought with.  (We brought it in a springform pan.)   I told him I would be there in a minute to put on the cherry topping.

So I start collecting my lunch garbage (used paper plate, utensils, cup, etc), throw it away, and go in to the kitchen just in time to see my husband trying to put the cheesecake on the platter.  And by "trying," I mean that he had the springform pan flipped over like a jello mold, and was shaking it to get it to come out on the platter.

Luckily, the cheesecake being so dense, it stuck in the pan long enough for me to lunge across the kitchen and stop him from "helping."  I saved the cheesecake, and gave my hubby a quick lesson on how to operate a springform pan.  (See the latch?  Release it.  Done.)

:)  So that's one of the funny stories.  No harm done, but the results could have been catastrophic!  (And messy!)

  • There are a few that pop into my head...

    1.  We were at the beach and we always bring a box of cheezits.  Well there were a few seagulls around so I threw a cheezeit up in the air and my DH took a picture....he caught the cheezeit before it went into the birds mouth....hilarious...to us...

    2.  In our last apartment we always had these orange ladybugs that would fly around our back patio (major problem in this area in the summer).  Anyways, DH opened the back door and one flew into his mouth and he started freaking out...and yelled "One of those damn ladysbigs flew into my mouth...it tastes like sh!t!!!!  Like that instant sh!t taste!!!!:...lol...

    3.  And finally....one time DH was spending the night at my apartment and he took his glasses off...set them on the night stand...then climbed into bed...10 seconds later we heard a buzzing noise....he had laid on something and it was buzzing and he flew up out of bed screaming...as did I....he was pushing me trying to get out of the bed as I fell onto the floor and then he was screaming and yelling "where is it????  where is it???" He couldn't see anything....neither could I because I was laughing hysterically on the floor and it was dark....it ended up being one of those japanese beatle things....hilarious...

*SNORT*    Was he high? Stick out tongue

  • Okay, I got another one.

Last week I was on the phone with my Mom and on the computer at the same time.  DH was sitting on the sofa in the corner.

While one the phone, I noticed that the wireless mouse to the computer was acting funny - like skipping around, or something, so I thought something was going on with the signal.  I stop moving the mouse around.  As I talk on the phone with my mom, the mouse cursor, of its own volition, moves across the screen, opens up the start menu, and loads a program.  Meanwhile, I'm watching this, while trying to maintain a somewhat serious conversation with my mom.  The mouse continues moving around the screen, and I finally freak out enough where I tell my mom I'll call her back, and I call DH over.

Of course, when I went to show him the mouse cursor was moving by itself, nothing happend.  It didn't move, didn't open programs, or anything.  I swear up and down that I saw it moving and that it opened a program and all that... finally, he says, "when you saw it moving, was it like this?"

And the mouse started moving again.

He gets this stupid "GOTCHA!" grin on his face, and shows me that he downloaded an app onto his iPhone that highjacks the signal from a wireless mouse.  He can control the computer from his iPhone, which was exactly what he was doing when I was on the phone with my mom.

*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*  Funny, yes.... but I gotta get him back for that.

  • @Karen - nope not high.  Just being a little boy!  I would freak out if my mouse did that and it is sorta scary that a mouse can have its signal swiped.  I would imagine that hackers could have a field day with that.  Tongue Tied

@ Cipolla - I HATE those bugs too!  They leave orange goo on things so you can't squish them!  That is too funny about them being in the bed.  :)

  • This may only be funny to me but here is one of my favs - but DH works for Enterprise (the rental car company) and one night when he got home from work we sat down to dinner and we got ready to say a blessing (your know prayers/grace) over our food. So we bow our heads and its all quiet and he says "Thank you for choosing Enterprise, this is Adam" - I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. He was like "see my life is consumed by work!" haha
  • Our funniest moments always seem to happen right before we fall asleep. It usually involves me saying something silly, laughing hysterically at myself until I cry and DH eating up every minute of it. he loves that I find myself so amusing. Big Smile

LOL, omg, it's the same with us!  DH usually eggs me on, too.

I remember we were about to fall asleep and I was thinking about something related to celebrities' kids... or something like that, and I sit up, and ask DH, "Does Madonna have kids?" (I honestly couldn't remember.)  He just starts laughing and is like, "Where did that come from?"

It's brought up periodically when we're about to fall asleep.

Ditto!  I can't even thing of any examples right now because they're just downright silly and senseless.  Smile

    Haaaa!!!!!!

  • This  may be TMI but it is the first thing that popped into my head. DH was trying to "get me in the mood"....he was doing good until he thought it was a good idea to motor boat my chest. I just remember him looking at me after and we both had shocked looks on our faces, Apparently he was too in the moment and was not thinking but somehow came to the conclusion that would be a good move to make.....we laughed so hard. I still joke about it.

LOL, awesome.  My DH always seems to fart (loudly) during sentimental moments.  I'll be in the middle of saying, "I'm so in love with you right now," when he'll cut one.  Classy. Stick out tongue

  • my dh is the most hilarious person ever. His laugh is contagious and when he starts laughing, everyone around him laughs and then he laughs because they are laughing. We were at Chilis once and our WHOLE table was just laughing at his laugh and he was laughing because we were. It lasted for like 5 min, then the waiter came over just to check on us and he got in on it and couldn't stop. I thought I almost peed my pants.

He also just says hilarious stuff randomly. One thing I remember from this week was a convo that went like this:

Me: Mike that shirt is REALLY wrinkley, maybe u shouldnt wear it.

Him: That's ok, I'll unwrinkle it with my buffness
