I'm annoyed. We literally drove back and forth between value city, roomful express and levin's deciding between different bedroom sets. We ended up picking value citys. Great price. Quick delivery.
But of course its not always nice and smooth. When they put the actual mirror ON the mirror backboard, it was crooked. No one noticed it till they started to connect it to the dresser and the mirror scratched the top of our dresser. Since then, we've found slight issues with every piece of furniture. And yesterday, I happened to notice some nice scratches/chipped paint going up the walls along our stairs. They came out today to replace the mirror and 'access the damage' to see what amount they can take off our bill. At first they offered store credit.. no thanks! who says I wanted to go back! Well they said $175 off. Really, thats it?!
Now, our damages aren't major. But we bought NEW furniture.... not stuff from a scratch and dent store. I told TJ to tell them what a friend of ours said to say 'u know what then? just bring me ALL new stuff'. cause it'll cost them more in labor and gas to do that probably.
I don't think I'm going back to value city again. And I'll be sure to make it known to them. And what a shame cause we still have alot of rooms to finish.

we bought our sectional from them just over a year ago, and i'm glad to say that we didn't have any problems.
Have them bring you new stuff and ask them to be compensated for the damage to your walls. Otherwise, call the BBB and make a compliant. Also, call and write corporate until you get what you want. If you irritate them enough they will give you whatever you're asking for to make you go away.
I made a HUGE stink with Gold's over them trying to tell us we hadn't canceled our gym membership (which we did) and they charged us for another month and told me they wouldn't refund my money because that was part of their policy but we were free to use the gym through the end of the month. I told them I was calling the BBB, making a compliant to corporate, putting it on FB and twitter and on my blog if I didn't have my money back by the next business day. Turns out they were suddenly able to accommodate my request. I did complain to corporate, but that was it. I didn't really plan on bashing all over the internet, but it scared them enough to give me what I wanted.
Apparently they were only going to give us 135 then tj was like 'what?!'. And the guy asked to see our bill then says 'ok, 175'. $25 of that is for our walls. Then the guy started saying how the warehouse guys keep pushing for a bonus for not messing up houses etc. Bullshit, I wouldn't give them a dime.
Oh and before the guy left he made a comment about us having so many rooms and to keep them in mind.... yaaaah right sir.
