Need another Phoenix opinion.  My sis and SIL are having my shower at the end of March at my house (just so much easier to not have to transport gifts).  Anyway, I want to do it outback by the pool since the weather should be nice.  SIL is really big on just putting chairs in a big circle and having people eat off their laps, which I am NOT ok with so DH and I are planning on renting tables and chairs.  Do you think that I will need to rent a tent too?  March should be perfect, but I am not sure if it will be too much sun for everyone.

Disclaimer to all- I KNOW that I am not supposed to plan my own shower, and sis and sil are still doing the food and decor, but I seriously cannot have people over to my house for a shower and not offer them a place to sit, eat and chit chat.

  • OMG! For sure rent tables and chairs!

This is who I have used in the past for tables and chairs, http://www.rentaffordable.com/ Call around though and get a couple quotes.

As for a tent...Its a toss up with March weather, it SNOWED in Scottsdale on my sisters wedding day in march a few years ago... It was all supposed to be outside, I had told her many times to rent a tent and she didnt listen.

So thats totally your call...Maybe check the forecast as it gets closer, because that can be a last minute deal.

  • Ah!  Well, worst case scenario if it is cold we can move out the furniture in the kitchen, dining, bar area and set up tables in there.  Good call on just wait and see.  I'll do that.  And thanks for the rental referral.  I used Y-Knot for my rehersal dinner and they were "OK".

  • I am NOT a fan of Y-Not AT ALL!

Call around, maybe only to places that can do tent rentals as well if you do end up needing one, that way you dont have to deal with different vendors.
