After all the house drama we've had there was one last person we were hoping could help us. He was a vp at the mortgage company DH and I used to work for. The Cincy office shut down and the vp went back to Dallas.
After hearing about our situation he gave us the name of his lawyer buddy here in Cincy who contacted US Bank where he found out that everything we were being told was a lie. The house was not in collections and they were not close to forclosing on it. (Even though I have a letter stating both of those things) Whew!
Then he contacted his other buddy who is a vp at US Bank. This guy was appalled at what his own company was doing. Needless to say we won't be getting anymore harassing letters from the bank! And if for some reason we do we are to personally call the vp at US Bank and tell him who is sending them and he will take care of them too!
This is such a relief! I have been freaking out and now it's finally over!

Yep...she can stay too! I was really worried about that b/c she's a snigle mom with 3 daughters. I couldn't imagine having to kick her out.

That is ridiculous! Make sure you get a letter from Mr. VP guy that says everything is okay. I'd then march my ass back into that branch where the idgit gave you the wrong info and stressed you out and show him the letter. I'd also ask to speak to his supervisor and give them both a piece of my mind.
Refinance as soon as you can!
DH says to also call the Better Business Bureau.
How in the world was a supposed reputable company able to send you false letters like that especially over something so major like a mortgage and forclosure! Couldn't they get in major legal trouble for that?

Josh thinks you should take legal action against US Bank for all the crap they've put you through. Not sure if you guys listen to 700WLW or not, but Josh also thinks you should contact Eric Deters (The Bulldog) and give him a rundown of the situation. He loves cases like this!
