I currently use Acuvue Oaysis. I hate them.
I have dry eyes to begin with a lot of the time, so my optometrist suggested these back when I first started wearing contacts. I just can't take them anymore.
I understand there probably no contacts that exist that are comfortable to wear ALL day (meaning none exist where you don't want to rip yoru eyeballs out by the time nighttime comes). But these are supposed to do that, but I can't even get through half the day before my eyes are so dry I'm using a whole bottle of eye drops just so I won't take a knife and cut them out. She claims I'm wearing them wrong if they're doing that (???, I'm not THAT dumb lady).
So my question is...what brand do you wear, do you like them? OR, do you know of a brand that will at least make it in my eyes for the day and not just halfway?
Re: Contact wearers...
I hope you find some that you like. I know that I was using Acuvue and eventually I had thick green goup in my eyes (eew), even after just wearing them a few hours. I ended up switching to glasses all the time because I couldn't stand the itching and goup.
(My ex husband hated me in glasses, so he paid for lasik - so no more contacts or glasses for me...until I turn 40 or so)
Well I just figured eff it and scheduled a re-fitting appt. with my eye doc. My cousin wears Purevision (Bausch and Lomb) and she swears by them so I'll give them a try if I can.
I had no problems with the regular acuvue kind you wear for a year when I was in HS. When I met DH in college, he liked me better in glasses, so now I only wear them on special occasions or when I want to wear sunglasses. I have oasys. They KILL my eyes and give me headaches, but I think it's more because I'm not used to them anymore. Also, being on the computer all day is terrible for ANY contacts because you blink less often.
Aria - you've got balls for getting that surgery! I just know I'd be the one to have complications and go blind. Maybe when I'm 80.
She'll give me samples. So I'm good.
