**It's one for team pink!*

We're having a girl!! Sorry to keep you guys waiting so long after I posted yesterday, but I after my u/s I had a regular OB appointment in the same hospital, and by the time I got home I was a good and tired preggo!

But, I have to say, after everyone from both DH and my family, and friends all were rooting for a boy, I think I had convinced myself that it was what I wanted too. So, after sharing that with my fetal technician, she was all the too eager to say exclaim: "if you're ready, this is about to change your life...because it's a girl!" Of course, being a questioning writer, I had to tease and ask her for proof, and how sure she was. But, she was 110 percent sure, because my sweet pea kept opening her legs, kicking and exposing her lady bits! (I see I'm already going to have to be tough)! LOl.

Intuitively, I always wanted a girl, but after being fed so many stories and seeing moms with screaming girls throwing princess tantrums, I was like, God give me a boy, convinced that boys are easier, because you never hear a boy say "mommy I hate you!" But, I soon realized that knowing I will be firm, that I could very well have a daughter who grows up saying the opposite! Another funny thing is that DH, like any red-blooded man, would have liked a son, but he said he just had a feeling it was a girl and is already calling her daddy's little girl! He has a teenage sister that he's very close with, so fostering a relationship with a girl, is second nature for him.

We're just happy and feel blessed that all her measurements of the brain and spine are normal and my Alpha-protein test was excellent. With my due date looming on June 30th, I'm already heading to the stores with a summer baby to stock up on all that pink, and purple summer dresses, and jelly sandals! Thank heaven for little girls huh?!!

  • Congrats on a little girl!  It's funny - my SIL had the exact opposite thought pattern as you...she was praying for #2 to be a girl as well because she didn't think she could deal with the craziness and rambunctiouness (sp??) that is a little boy.  Boys can be crazy :-)

  • Thanks so much ladies for the well wishes! Yes, Kocal, I agree boys can definitely be crazy and rough housing, but girls are their own  little handfuls. I'm just feeling up for the challenge now. Liza, that ultra sound is such an amazing, miraculous thing to watch. I didn't want to leave! June 30th is the due date, now let's see how impatient, or stubborn she is about coming out then!
  • Yay, congrats! Girls are wonderful. Right now Sasha is going through a phase where every hour or so, in the middle of playing/reading/doing whatever, she comes up to me and hugs me! Little girls are so sweet!
  • Congrats and welcome to team pink. My daughter has my DH wrapped around her little finger. She is such a daddy's girl too. Best of luck and get ready for pink overload. I think for the 1st year of her life she wore all pink. I just gave up trying to fight it. LOL.
  • God bless! That is great news-- it's great either way but so much fun knowing! :)

  • congratulations!!!  How wonderful!!

Having a girl is really just wonderful.  I had some of the same thoughts/feelings, that "boys always love their mothers", but really girls are soooo affectionate!   It really is so fun having a girl, you're going to be so happy!

  • Yay for little, pink outfits! =) Congrats to you and your hubby!
