I recently joined this volunteer organization and I think it is wonderful. Basically, you can volunteer to make birthday cakes for children who might otherwise not have one.

I made a cake last night for a 19 yr old homeless boy who had never had a birthday cake before. It felt great. They have recently expanded the number of organizations who are requesting cakes and now have a bunch of new requests.
I thought I would just pass this on in case anyone is interested. It is really rewarding.
